Since my first time seeing Bone Thugs N Harmony in concert at 9:30 Club, a couple of members have dropped off the tour, leaving only Wish Bone and Krayzie Bone (otherwise known as “the chubby one” and “the tall skinny one who looks like Snoop”) to carry the show. After a lively pre-show performance by Dizzy and Dilemma (below), I couldn’t wait to see how the remaining Bone Thugs turned out with only 40% of their original members.

I have to say, they did a pretty good job. The crowd was smaller than before, but then again, so was their group. There were enough people on the stage to lend the appearance that all five members were there, and they performed enough of each song to showcase their hits without revealing the missing verses, including Thuggish Ruggish Bone, First of da Month, and For the Love of Money. Then they paid their obligatory yet welcomed homage to EZ E (“cuz the boys in the hood are always hard, you come talkin’ that trash, we’ll pull your card…”), Tupac and Biggie. If you are a Bone Thugs fan, and I am, you too would have certainly had a good time.

Insana

p.s. Come back Bizzy and Layzie!
