Today I’m thankful for: Smut music. That’s what I call all mindless drivel rap music by the likes of Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Wacka Flocka, Pastor Troy, Bun B, Pimp C (RIP), Young Jeezy, Young Dro, Gucci Mane, all of Cash Money, all of Young Money, all of Maybach Music Group–and don’t get me started why a group of rap artists named themselves after a car company, because I don’t know. I like this music because it’s not about anything, it just makes me want to dance and forget about how much traffic sucks or about my boring day at work or about the bills waiting for me in my mailbox when I get home. For at least 5 minutes at a time.

This is a CD that my DJ friend, Andre Foxx (Twitter @IAmRickDiesel), made for me today. I’m thankful for him too!

Sure, I bet these guys have something important and smart to say. But honestly, I don’t want to hear it. Then it will make me think. I do enough of that already!
